Appearing for the second time in our 2012 Ad of the Week, Outback Steakhouse shines with the Veteran’s Day ad “Feeding Our Heroes” for Week 45 (Ace Score: 672). Offering a special deal for our troops on Veteran’s Day, the ad pans through clips of soldiers here and abroad enjoying a tasty meal from the popular restaurant chain. The ad scored 14% higher than the norm making it the highest scoring Restaurant ad this year – just beating out Applebee’s from last week. “Feeding Our Heroes” resonated most with viewers ages 50+ under $40K, who scored the ad almost 150 points more than the category norm. Change, Likeability and Information were the highest Persuasion component scores for this Veteran’s Day spot, meaning that the people learned something, liked watching the ad and felt that their perception of the brand has changed. The words “great,” “love,” and “support” were used frequently throughout the verbatim responses, which is no surprise for an ad that all American’s can stand behind.
