This year we featured Ads of the Week from a wide range of companies and brands. From meat-packers like Perdue to tech giants like Samsung, nearly every brand that debuted a commercial in 2013 was eligible to win the title of Ad of the Week.
After scoring over 6,400 ads in 2013, there may not be a better way to end the year than with Google’s newest ad that recaps 2013 with the use of its ubiquitous search engine. “Google Zeitgeist: Here’s to 2013” boils down the year into a :90 spot highlighting all the things consumers searched for – then likely watched, loved, cried for and shared.
Ad of the Week: Category Overachiever & Top Ace Score
Scoring 43% above the Websites category norm, this ad was the Category Overachiever winner as well as the ad with the highest Ace Score of 663. Not only did this ad successfully convey all the emotion from the last year, but it was also still able to subtly incorporate a variety of Google products. From search to YouTube and from maps to email, throughout the ad Google helps us realize that they were actually a huge part of our lives in 2013 as well.
